VOLUME has created a unique partnership between tech-giant Microsoft Denmark and the internationally renowned Danish band Mew.
Mew has a very large and dedicated fan base spread out all over the world – from Finland to Mexico – who they would like to directly involve in a creative process. For them the challenge was to find a way to collaborate across countries, time zones, cities and provinces with their fans.
In partnering Mew and Microsoft Denmark we found a perfect match. By using Office 365 as a flexible online platform for a creative fan-project, we brought Mew closer to their fans and at the same time exposed the features of Office 365 to a new group of users.
For the project, Mew gives fans access to their own creative community via the app OneNote from Microsoft Office 365, delivering the entire technical platform for the project. In OneNote fans gain access to Mew’s online notebooks, and the opportunity to talk to the band via exclusive Skype sessions – thereby creating an online community for more than 2250 fans eager to participate in the making of Mew’s music video.
Mew’s fans will get to influence both the soundtrack and visual side of the music video – by recording their version of the song ‘The Night Believer’ along with lead singer Jonas Bjerre and taking pictures of themselves using technical features within Office 365.
